Aaaaand I'm nervous. It started when I checked the weather and saw the Winter Weather Advisory, which told me my commute will probably be hellish. This is worrisome, because a) I'm not used to being awake at 8 a.m. and b) I'm not used to traveling this road at this time of day and have no estimate of normal travel time, let alone how much time I should tack on because of fast-falling snow. I really, really don't want to be late.
I also don't know what to wear. I was only ever in the office on Fridays, which could be their one casual jean day or the norm. In my employee-packet-o-doom it was never clearly stated what the dress code is, so I'm going to go business casual and hope that's OK and I'm not severely overdressed. At my old job, I wore jeans to work every day, but I'm not sure all newsrooms are the same.
I'm pretty sure I'll be able to do the work just fine, but I really kind of want to blow them out of the water with shock. I pick up CMS tools really quickly and I used to cover 85 stations for breaking news all by me onesy. This is just one station. There are not a dozen different styles across seven networks and completely scrambled indexes. I was unemployed for 23 days. I can't have forgotten too much in that time.
