And a meme for the new friendly types-zuh. Ganked from sideshowkat.
How did you come to start your LJ?
bandtenhut and I had a history of passing paper journals back and forth in class in middle school. Well, eventually my mother found them, began reading them, and trouble ensued. Thus, she got on livejournal and paved the way for us to continue our cross-journaling shenanigans but with a mom-proof cyber-lock.
How did you find your first friends?
Through chat rooms and on comment threads where mutual ideas were shared.
Are those first friends still on your FL?
Yes, but many of them have abandoned their LJs. Woe.
How long have you been on LJ?
Almost 8 years. Hot damn. Nothing like the better part of a decade to make you feel old...
Do you have more friends or communities on your FL?
More friends, for sure. I tend to skim past the communities. I just care more about people.
Do you do a lot of friends cuts?
I don't really cut people unless they delete their journals or defriend me. I prefer to call it grooming.
What do you like in an LJ friend?
People who are witty, smart and genuine.
What do you dislike?
Hatred. Injustice. Wet socks. Moldy food products. Not getting my way.
What would make you unfriend someone immediately?
It would have to be a really offensive personal attack.
Have you been caught up in a lot of LJ drama?
No. I remember freaking out once LJ introduced ads, but I have a permanent account so it doesn't really affect me. Lulz.
Do RL friends and family members know you have a journal on LJ?
Yes and no -- it's a little bit of this and that. Some friends and family members also have LJs.
Do you also have Facebook and if so, what do you prefer – LJ or FB?
I have Facebook, and I like/use both for different reasons/purposes. Facebook is like popcorn, while LJ is garlic cheddar mashed potatoes. More filling, but sometimes you just want a snack.
What about Twitter?
I. Hate. Twitter.
Do you blog on any other sites?
How often do you check in on LJ?
Daily, unless my a) internet disappears b) I'm super busy or c) I'm in the wilderness.
What do you rarely or never post about?
Why don’t you post about that?
Because they fear me, so I never interact with them much.
Have you ever thought about deleting your journal?
Never. It would be like deleting a part of my soul.
Have you ever changed your username?
No. I have loved this one ever since I selected it.
Why did you choose your current username?
It's complicated, but can be explained.
If you’re looking for new friends, how do you find them?
Friending memes, through mutual friends, and in RL.
Are you taking new people on to your Friends List just now?
Always. :) The more the merrier.
Finally, tell us the reasons why you keep an online journal.
I love to share the things that I think, feel, and write with people of like mind. I also like to keep a record of my thoughts, emotions and interests because it shows how far I've come and helps create a road map for where I'm going.
