DO NOT WANT.

I love working here, really I do. I'm a dork. I like copy-editing and proofreading, but I've been bopping around on the internet copying and pasting event dates from various calendars all. damn. day. Talk about your mindless tedium. I got a 4 page word document chock full of it right here, and I'm about ready to stab out my eyes.

ETA: HOW IS IT THAT PEOPLE WHO CANNOT WRITE GET PAID TO HAVE JOBS WHERE ALL THEY DO IS WRITE? WHY IS THIS THE THING THAT IS HAPPENING?

Everyone thinks s/he's a writer. Everyone. And, to them, that means sitting in front of a keyboard and putting words on to a screen.

But I've also learned that writers - capable ones - are incredibly in demand right now. Companies need, want, love people who can write. They want writers because there aren't many people who can do all those things you talked about above, who know when to use eloquence and when to "speak" practically, who know how to spell properly and punctuate with more than a period and question mark, and those millions of things/skills you, I, and our classmates (amongst others) have spent the last four years honing.

For people like us, this a very good thing.

But where are they hiding these jobs?

What are you doing this summer?

Working at the Radisson (because I graduate next semester) and, apparently, doing freelance writing for some company.

Where are they hiding these jobs? In paperwork, of course.
