Identification ruling the nation...

[full article here]
Melissa D. Dols of Edina drowned, according to the Hennepin County medical examiner's office.

So...the body they found wasn't from these parts. Close, but not from the neighborhood. They still haven't told us why she drowned. At least the Prior Lake drowning victim had the alcohol thing goin' on. Still... two 20-year-old women drowning in the city lakes in the same weekend... Eesh. I want more information.

Especially since this writing and reporting continues to suck. For example: According to the medical examiner's office, Dols was last seen at the north shore on Thursday.

Now, this may be true; however, did the medical examiner's minions locate her point of entry? For some reason, I don't think so. Also, there are two lakes here, and that begs the question... which north shore? North shore of Calhoun? North shore of Lake of the Isles? Or maybe it was the North Shore of the channel/lagoon? Seriously.

I read that article with the perspective of a Minnesotan, to whom the phrase "the north shore" without any further qualifiers ALWAYS means Lake Superior. You know, the big one. Up NORTH. Even knowing that there's no way that could be what the writer of this article intended, that's STILL what my head is thinking as I read that sentence. So, yeah, crappy writing for sure.

The person that you are talking about is my sister---the one who drowned in Lake Calhoun. My sister was murdered....it was ruled as a homicide. She left work on a Thursday night and never returned home...her body was found Sunday morning. The killer is still out on the loose.

I miss her=(
