Bad Idea #1: I woke up this morning, and decided I'd go for a swim after work and therefore would not shower. I'm the kind of person that doesn't do morning without either a) a five gallon bucket of espresso hooked up to an IV, or b) hot water pouring over my head for an extended period of time. I had neither. I had vanilla yogurt and granola. Needless to say, it failed to generate the desired effect.
Bad Idea #2: I thought, "Well... the pollen forecast is really high. Maybe it's just my allergies..." and took an Alavert. It wasn't until later, when I was coughing because my throat was so dry, that I remembered antihistamines dry you out. Ugh. Oh, that... and I still wasn't better.
Bad Idea #3: I walked to work when my asthma started kicking up. It's pretty normal for it to flare up when I'm sick, but I haven't been sick for a long time so I haven't been bringing my inhaler anywhere. Turn around, retrieve it. Thankfully I did so, because otherwise I would've forgotten my cell phone as well. Positives aside, I was five minutes late for work.
Bad Idea #4: I get to work, and I'm sore from yesterday's exercizing and the walk has only exacerbated this problem. Also, because I've been moving, there's a snot deluge in my nose and throat, so I'm snorfling all the time. A manager walks up to me and tells me I look like a ghost, and offers me drugs which I foolishly take. At the time I was praying for relief from the eye watering, throat parching, nose fauceting madness. Half an hour later, I'm so high it takes me a solid second to focus on or respond to anything.
Bad Idea #5: Despite all this, I programmed the cash register today and insisted upon using it to see if it would generate a correct total. It did, but made me really pissy in the process.
Bad Idea #6: I'm home now. I'm sick, but I still wanna go swimming... and I probably still will.
