What the hell, Minnesota? I thought you were good people, and then you go and bust out this shit? Not cool.

For real y'all. Watch this. You'll need Internet Explorer or Netscape.

I strongly support gay marriage. Most of you know this, if not... there you go. Yeah, I'm a Christian even. Imagine!

The thing that gets me, is that gay marriage is already not allowed in this state - which while that saddens me deeply, I'm not terribly surprised. This amendment will even ban civil unions, and that's a crock. You can't deny people their civil rights! How many times do we have to go through this, America? All men are created equal means no second class citizens, you assholes.

Look, if you want to define marriage... fine, I guess. If you absolutely must, then define away. Just don't fuck people over while you're doing it. Who are you - or anyone else for that matter - to say, "I think that you are so wrong in the eyes of God that you shouldn't be able to share the same tax break I enjoy with my heterosexual spouse!" I mean seriously, people. That's just the tip of the iceberg. Some couples are denied health insurance, and in some states (i.e. Nebraska) you cannot give power of attorney. So in the event that I were a lesbian living in Nebraska with my partner, and I had an asthma attack and was in the hospital and unable to speak for myself - my partner could not give the medical staff the information to help me. That is so beyond wrong, I just can't even begin. C'mon God fearin' folk, aren't you supposed to be trying to save the heathens instead of simply allowing them to die because you're too afraid to address your homophobia?

Also, conservative Christians, listen up. I got two words for you. Dude, stop! Marriage is not a distinctly Christian institution. Buddhists get married. Atheists get married. Even Pagans get married all the time. Furthermore, the homosexuals in love are not trying to dismantle your notions of Christian union. Even so, don't whine to the government about it. We are not a theocracy. Supposedly, there is a separation of church and state. Oh, and don't even get me started on the whole hypocrisy thang, 'cause I could go on and on and on. Mormons, y'all.

I think it's time to bring this out again.

Anyway, tomorrow morning is the first Minnesota Pastors' Summit and I'll be there protesting at 8:00 a.m. sharp. Because honestly, we ain't got time to be hatin' on anybody. The bible says God is love, not God is straight love so stop projecting. Don't be a dick.

this is kinda how worked up i get about republicans. one of the things i care most strongly about is gay rights. this is the kind of stuff that makes me think "how can you NOT care about politics" when these kinds of decisions are at stake? how can you not care? how can you not rail against these bigots?

I can't blame it all on them. You know me. 99.98723% of the time I do not agree with them, but neither side is always right or always to blame.

I do care about politics, I just cannot immerse myself in them constantly. I don't have a passion for depression, and that's how politiics effect me. I stand up for what I believe in, and I consider myself relatively well informed, and I do what I feel I should do.
