Strange Things I Find on CVB Websites:

I'm at work presently, and I'm digging up some dates for the Southern California Meetings & Events website that's currently in production... and Convention and Visitors Bureau's are generally a good place to look because they create calendars of all the events at the local convention center and parks and things.

Needless to say, people gather in large groups for strange reasons. I've seen conventions for armadillo-racing enthusiasts, but I really think this is the best one I've seen in awhile.

Three Days of Dogfighting for the Cure: Probably the most out-there fund raiser... ever. And okay, so they're not actually going to be dogfighting in the skies to bomb the crap out of AIDS, but still. Odd notion.

DO NOT WANT.

I love working here, really I do. I'm a dork. I like copy-editing and proofreading, but I've been bopping around on the internet copying and pasting event dates from various calendars all. damn. day. Talk about your mindless tedium. I got a 4 page word document chock full of it right here, and I'm about ready to stab out my eyes.

ETA: HOW IS IT THAT PEOPLE WHO CANNOT WRITE GET PAID TO HAVE JOBS WHERE ALL THEY DO IS WRITE? WHY IS THIS THE THING THAT IS HAPPENING?
