Are you laboring on Labor Day?

No! We're doing something different! We're going to Canterbury Park for some good, old-fashioned, horse racing. Well... that is, if we ever leave. Post time was at 1:30, and we still haven't left yet. I have a sneaking suspicion we won't even be able to bet by the time we get there, but hopefully it'll still be a good time.

Damn anyway, I want a mint julep.

Labor Day Recap

Today has been fantastic, which is good because last night was not so much.

Had a nice morning, got some good news, and then went to the races! It was really, really fun! I definitely wish we would've gone more often, because it was a lot of fun. Way more than I thought it would be. We didn't have any money, but we started off making what would have been ridiculously profitable bets. Instead, we bet on different parts of a meal. Bet one was appetizers (soup, salad, ciabatta...), the next round was meat, we had a wine round... etc.

Afterward we went to Minnehaha Falls, which I didn't even know existed. We got there and walked around during the tail end of the Bluegrass Festival, which was lovely. The falls are absolute gorgeous, and I was completely thrilled to see a waterfall in the middle of my city. Honestly, Minneapolis is quite possibly the best city ever.

We were hungry by the time we left, so we went to Hacienda Plaza for tacos, and holy damn. The barbacoa tacos almost killed me. I was hoping for the carne asada, but for some reason I didn't see it? I'd had them before, I knew they were delicious, and I had a craving for them. I'm kind of glad that I didn't get them though, because they were delicious.

Now we're getting ready to watch Weeds while drinking martinis beforehand! Hoorah!

Weeds 2:4

Jesus, I am jealous of Mary-Louise Parker's legs. I am a 21-year-old girl, and I am jealous of an 42-year-old's legs. Twice my age, better legs... Good Lord.
