ten points from gryffindor

Set Mind to LEARN.

Yes brain, I'm putting you on learn mode. Not recall mode, not study mode. I, the body, haven't actually gone to class so I don't actually know the material they are expecting us to regurgitate tomorrow in our final. After you have recovered from this morning's shock, please report for duty. I've got a lot of book to read and a lot of powerpoint "lectures" to hate.

Cheers,
Major Procrastination, First Class

-------

Ungh. I got up here last night around 10-ish last night. No time to relax... there is time to pass the hell out which I'll explain later. First, I need to get it into my head that:

Today is completely devoted to the learning of nonsense for the Final of Semester Finality and Extreme Stupidity(proper title) to be taken tomorrow.

...it's still not really clickin'. I've kind of stopped caring. It happens to me every semester, apathy sets in and I resign myself to whatever grade I can acquire with the least amount of effort. I'm getting an 83% so far, and I haven't been going. I mean at all. And attendance definitely is required, and I still haven't been going, and i'm still doing fine. Whatever.

--------

I hardcore insomnia-crashed last night. I was gone. I woke up this morning and was so confused because I was in all my clothes and my contacts were in and I never do that. I distinctly remember telling Sandy that I was going to change and get ready for bed. Then again, I also distinctly remember feeling my body just shut down under extreme exhaustion. Clearly, there was no "getting ready for" there was just a complete forfeit unto the bed. I don't remember her leaving...must've been out by then.

It's interesting to be reminded that we have biological needs. Normally I think of sleep as something that we acquiesce to. Maybe that's just the arrogance of consciousness; however, when you have only slept 10 hours in 3 days, your body will retaliate and it will exact its needs from you - willingly or unwillingly.

--------

Right then. Work. *nod*

  1. books:
I am a hopeless bibliophile. I get really giddy when I get a new book to read, and I am always reading five at one time just for my own enjoyment. I can prove it, if you dont believe me.

I especially love the way it sounds when you crack the spine of a new book for the first time, and the smell of fresh printing ink. It's sick, I know.
  2. daniel radcliffe:
N'awwww, Radcakes! He's come a long way as an actor, going from disney to omg ANGST to jailbait. I like 'im.
  3. electronica:
    Mmmm. Beats.

I have an addiction to electronic music. Especially when driving. I don't know what it is. Though, it's a genre and I don't know what else to really say about it, except if you want some recommendations let me know.
  4. gonzo journalism:
Hunter S. Thompson is the reason I got into journalism. He invented gonzo journalism and he was pretty much my writing idol. Gonzo involves the reporter reporting the action as he/she is in it. If you haven't read anything by the man, I don't think I can be friends with you.

    Main Entry: gon·zo
    Pronunciation: 'gän-(")zO
    Function: adjective
    Etymology: origin unknown
: idiosyncratically subjective but engagé ; also : BIZARRE (hee!)
  5. invasion:
Only the best new TV series since LOST! I am hopelessly behind on the recaps, and might actually do one tonight.

Anyone know when the new night and time is?
  6. knitting:
I don't know what it is, but I love arts and crafts. I'm a very fidgety person, and having something in my hands really calms me down.

Plus, it's nice to make somethig out of nothing. Yarn is cheap, but you knot it a specific way and suddenly you've got clothes! Miraculous!
  7. mr. oizo:
Fantastic electronic artist. I recommend the album Analog Worms Attack to just about everyone I meet.
  8. radiohead:
Let's see, I've liked them for a good 7 years now. Saw them live and it was like a religious experience.

I am kind of in love with their lyrics, and the music stands for itself. They've crossed a lot of different genres, and I love every album. Pablo Honey, I won't lie... isn't a personal favorite, but this band is quality.
  9. sour gummy bears:
I can never find these things anymore, but I love sour candy. And at one point I found sour tropical-ish gummy bears and I bought a boatload of them. Of course, they were all eaten over time and I haven't been able to locate any since, but they're delicious.
  10. thom yorke:
This seems redundant... because Thom Yorke is the lead singer of radiohead, but if you've ever seen him live, you know that he's pretty ridiculously amazong. That and he always looks like he's having a fit on stage.

...plus he's going to fall madly in love with my friend Kstah someday. We've got it all planned out.

ETA: The song I'm really listening to is In Love With All You Are and Forever Maybe as if My Life Depended on It - Kid 606, but the title is too long for the current music box.

Time for Self Medication...

Indeed, it is time to self medicate myself with pizza and Anchorman because my spirit has been brutally beaten to the ground, shattered, spit upon, boiled, buried in soft peat, unearthed, burned, suffered grievously underneath a stampede of hippopotami, and is now whimpering in a tragic and consumptive fashion in the dark recesses of my closet.

This is what trying to actually read anything by Kathleen Hansen will do to you. I have been reading all day, and don't feel like I've learned anything. Therefore, I either know it all already and am just suffering finalsitis paranoia, or I'm doomed.

... I need a hug.

ETA: Also... Faith is a bunny-hater.
