In comparison to the book, I think it looks so awful. But my brother and I are planning to see it anyway.

I know! Also, Edward Speelers is totally nothing like the Eragon I pictured. I mean... he looks like a poor-man's Zach Hanson, but not as cute.

For real. None of them look anything like I pictured, honestly. I just read a review from somebody on my flist, and apparently his "facial expressions made him look as if he was about to barf, 24/7." Which is always promising.

Seriously, he has really strange lip mannerisms that are kind of disturbing.

I haven't read the book, and I've heard the movie is god awful... but it just looks so pretty in the tv spots.

There are some pretty moments... but... yeah if you haven't read the book, I would want to know what you think about it. I'm pretty sure if I hadn't read it... I wouldn't have given a damn throughout the entire movie. Then again, I was also really pissed that every single part of the book that I enjoyed was not there. And I didn't enjoy much of that book.

Although, there wasn't really much of the book at all in the final movie.

I met the author cause he came to my school. he is a total douche bag. I bet he touches himself to princess leia posters. My friend and I are determined to write a better book than him and then be like mwahahahaha we are far superior

Not saying anything against you guys and your writing skills, but that would not be hard. 0_o

The only reason his got published is because his parents fucking owned the publishing company.

I don't really care much about Eragon, but I may see it just to see what the hype's about. I've never read the book, though.

Hahha, if you see the movie, you will never read the book.

I really like the story. The book is a total Gary Stu and it reaks of 15-year-old boy. It shouldn't have been published... but I do like the story. Unfortunately, the story is not even remotely included in the movie.

They should change the "based on the novel by" to "vaguely based on."

I've not read the book, and Jonathan Ross said the film was shite - but I might download it at some point and waste some time. Apparently it's pretty?

Well... to an extent. It never really struck me as being exceptionally... pretty. I really just can't get past the bad.

If you haven't read the book, I would be realy intereseted in your opinion of it.

horrible would make me sad as the cast ROCKS. I mean, John Malkovich? How AWESOME is he? And Rachel Weiss as the smartass dragon... soooo great. Though I'm totally pissed they made the elf chick blonde, what the fuck? There's also a lot of remembering stuff that may not come across so well. Oh, and the fact that it's a blatant LOtR rip off targeted at a younger audience. But that's just a minor detail.

John Malkovich was laughable. Boring, not frightening, and laughable.

Rachel Weiss... had less than 30 lines, and they were so poorly written they were embarassing and ludicrous. She wasn't a smartass. She was boring, almost monotone.

Jeremy Irons... his character had the most potential, and the most depth... and they cut all what made his character interesting. He was like the Aragorn of this movie, except way less knowledeable and his presence seemed totally random.

The only good part of the Movie? Garrett Hedlund. He = hot.

Eragon was... squishy and boyish and was a horrible actor. His lip mannerisms distracted me.

that's really depressing, the smartass dragon was just about the only thing that made me like the books at all. that and the only slightly obvious plot twist with the guy and the dragon and the evil star wars type "oh noes!" heartwrenching twist. but that's just 'cause I figured it out.

grr. the movie had potential, or rather should have had potential, damnit.

The movie should have been better than the book. It had the ability... and it failed. BIG TIME. See here for further details.
